Abstract
The
rates
of
anxiety
and
depression
increase
across
adolescence,
many
experience
recurrence
after
treatment,
yet
longitudinal
studies
examining
promotive
factors
are
scarce.
We
prospectively
examined
the
role
structured
style,
personal
social
competencies,
family
functioning,
resources
in
homotypic
heterotypic
continuity
discontinuity
three
years
a
clinical
sample.
Participants
were
adolescents
with
or
depressive
disorders
aged
13–18
at
T1
(
N
=
717,
44%
initial
participation
rate)
16–21
T2
549,
80%
follow-up
rate).
At
T1,
diagnoses
collected
from
medical
records
participants
responded
to
questionnaires.
T2,
semi-structured
diagnostic
interviews
conducted.
Higher
levels
all
associated
reduced
probability
later.

competence

moderation

Adverse
childhood
experiences
(ACEs)
are
a
possible
pathway
through
which
poor
family
finances
influences
adolescents'
behavioral
and
mental
health
problems.
However,
the
interrelationship
between
finances,
ACEs,
outcomes
in
adolescence
has
received
little
attention.
We
aimed
to
(1)
document
exposure
family-based
ACEs
by
perceived
(PFF),
(2)
examine
how
PFF
relates
cumulative
pattern-based
approaches
(3)
assess
direct
interactive
associations
relation
with

Abstract
Background
Whether
the
recent
rise
in
adolescent
self-reported
depressive
symptoms
is
influenced
by
changing
reporting
behavior
much
debated.
Most
studies
use
observed
sum
scores
to
document
trends
but
fail
assess
whether
their
measures
are
invariant
across
time,
a
prerequisite
for
meaningful
inferences
about
change.
We
examined
measurement
noninvariance,
indicative
of
perceptions
and
symptoms,
may
influence
assessment
time
symptoms.
Methods
Data
stem
from
nationwide
repeated
cross-sectional
Ungdata-surveys
(2010–2019)
560
712
responses
adolescents
aged
13
19
years.
Depressive
were
measured
with
Kandel
Davies'
six-item
Mood
Inventory.
Using
structural
equation
modeling,
we
invariance
gender
age,
estimated
consequences
noninvariance
on
cross-cohort
trends.
Results
Across
most
conditions,
instrument
was
found
time.
The
few
noninvariant
parameters
detected
had
negligible
impact
trend
estimates.
From
2014,
latent
mean
symptom
increased
among
girls.
For
boys,
U
shaped
pattern
detected,
whereby
an
initial
decrease
followed
increase
2016.
Larger
issues
age
girls
between
genders.
Conclusions
perspective,
notion
that
changed
has
been
important
driver
secular
not
supported.
Thus,
other
causes
these
should
be
considered.
However,

girls)
highlights
necessarily
perceived

This
study
examines
trends
in
health,
well-being,
and
risk
behaviours
among
high
school
students
Finnmark,
Norway,
compares
them
with
the
national
average.
Data
were
drawn
from
Ungdata
survey,
covering
three
waves
between
2014
2023.

6,084

nationwide.

Abstract
The
formation
of
friendships
and
romantic
relationships
represents
an
important
developmental
task
in
young
adulthood.
However,
little
is
known
about
the
potential
factors
associated
with
quality
these
interpersonal
relationships.
