Trichogramma leucaniae is believed to be an efficient biological control agent for controlling the soybean pod borer [SPB; Leguminivora glycinivorella]. The large eggs of Chinese oak silkworm, Antheraea pernyi, are one best alternative host mass production Trichogramma. However, they considered poor growth and development T. leucaniae. Combining different biocontrol agents, particularly micro- and macroorganisms, can contribute to new sustainable pest control approaches. Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) is one of the most destructive pests solanaceous crops. An emerging management strategy consists biological using microbial insecticides such as baculoviruses, but with limited efficacy. Thanks their high target specificity, baculoviruses be used simultaneously natural enemies parasitoids for improved T. absoluta. However, potential indirect nontarget effects on result from overlapping resource requirements. We assessed whether ovipositing parasitoid females discriminated against virus-treated hosts examined outcome within-host competition between hymenopteran Necremnus tutae (Reuter) (Eulophidae) Dolichogenidea gelechiidivoris Marsch (Braconidae), Phthorimaea operculella granulovirus (PhopGV, Baculoviridae) that infects larvae.Female D. hosts, whereas N. did not. found few virus-related depending species, sex, time virus treatment. Effects were ambivalent offspring ranged increased male longevity when infection occurred before parasitization reduced emergence after parasitization. showed a longer development shorter they developed in hosts. The had low impact offspring. In rare cases, adverse detected; however, magnitude these unlikely reduce fitness offspring, therefore both seem compatible baculovirus © 2022 The Authors. Abstract Tuta absoluta is one of the largest threats to tomato agriculture worldwide. Native South America, it has rapidly spread throughout Europe, Africa, and Asia over past two decades. To understand how T. been so successful improve containment strategies, high-quality genomic resources an understanding population history are critical. Here, we describe a highly contiguous annotated genome assembly, as well genome-wide analysis samples collected across Latin America. The new assembly L50 17 with only 132 contigs. Based on hundreds thousands single nucleotide polymorphisms, detect three major clusters in America some evidence admixture along Andes Mountain range. coalescent simulations, find these diverged from each other tens generations ago prior domestication tomatoes. We further identify several loci patterns consistent positive selection that related insecticide resistance, immunity, metabolism. This data will future research toward genetic control strategies inform policies.

Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) is one of the main pests threatening tomato production worldwide.Since its detection in Mediterranean basin, it has been target research aiming to reduce damage crops.Current conservation biological control approaches focus on polyphagous predators Macrolophus pygmaeus (Rambur) and Nesidiocoris tenuis (Reuter) (Hemiptera: Miridae), which are very effective pest's eggs but have little effect T. larvae.Surveys conducted northeast Spain concluded that eulophid Necremnus tutae Ribes & Bernardo braconid Dolichogenidea gelechiidivoris (Marsh) most abundant larval parasitoids. It well known adding floral resources near crops can provide high-quality food for natural enemies thus enhance control.Previous studies showed Lobularia maritima L. (Brassicaceae) flowers a reliable source N. tutae. The present study examines whether availability positively influences fitness D. by parasitoids. To this aspect, performance both wasps was evaluated simple complex arena at high low densities absoluta, respectively. Our results demonstrate nectar nutrient-rich with profound implications tomatoes.
