ABSTRACT Aphis craccivora Koch (Hemiptera: Aphidiade), Planococcus lilacinus Cockrell Pseudococcidae) and Plutella xylostella L. (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae) are key pests of agricultural horticultural crops. Indiscriminate use insecticides led to resistance, harmful beneficial insects environment. Essential oils (EOs) plant‐derived secondary metabolites that can be used combat insect pests. In this work, chemical composition insecticidal activities EOs were screened against target for identification lead(s). GC GC–mass spectra (MS) analysis revealed ocimene (36.4%) in Rosmarinus officinalis (Lamiaceae) β‐caryophyllene (58.77%) Ocimum sanctum major constituents. Combination R. + O. (RO OS) at 1:1, 3:1 1:3 ratios comprised eugenol (36.95%, 42.02% 19.01%, respectively) as the main constituent. is most effective A. P. (LD 50 = 0.97 2.02 µL/insect, after 96 h. was more P . 3.92 µL/insect). All combinations displayed toxicity 0.11–0.14 µL/insect), synergistic activity , whereas showed antagonistic activity. Further RO OS also high 0.36–0.40 µL/insect) 1.36–1.49 EO repellent (RC 2366.62 µL/L) deterrent (88%) action (Cotoxicity coefficient (CTC) 640.67–1366.67) (CTC 404–561.11). Both inhibition acetylcholinesterase (AChE), glutathione‐ S ‐transferase (GST), CES1 mixed‐function oxidase (MFO) test insects. The alone or combination may recommended control based on field bio‐efficacy studies.
