Background/Objectives: Food prices are a crucial factor in food choices, especially for more vulnerable populations. To estimate the association between diet cost and quality, as measured by EAT-Lancet score, across demographic groups Brazil. Methods: Data from 2017/18 Household Budget Survey were used to calculate comprising 14 components. Scores ranged 0 (low adherence) 42 (high adherence), with emphasized components (e.g., vegetables, fruits, legumes) limited red meat, sugar, eggs). Results stratified per capita income, geographic region, area of residence compared using linear regression adjusted high low costs. In addition, score (and its components) (continuous) was analyzed total population income tertiles. Results: The mean 18.65 points (range: 7 25) BRL$0.65/100 kcal. Total scores showed no significant difference low- high-cost diets. However, intake pronounced low-cost diets, while diets featured foods such seafood. High-cost also included sugars unsaturated fats scored higher Each one-point increase associated BRL$0.38 reduction cost, driven lower costs Limited component, among lowest-income strata (reductions BRL$1.58 BRL$1.55 lowest middle tertiles, respectively). increased (BRL$0.89) tertile. Conclusions: Higher reduced costs, likely influenced component low-income groups. Emphasized foods, however, tended particularly group. These findings suggest that role composition plays differences underscore challenges face accessing affordable, healthy
