Abstract Background A range of rare mutations involving micro-deletion or -duplication genetic material (copy number variants (CNVs)) have been associated with high neurodevelopmental and psychiatric risk (ND-CNVs). Irritability is frequently observed in childhood conditions, yet its aetiology largely unknown. Genetic variation may play a role, but there sparsity studies investigating presentation irritability young people ND-CNVs. Aims This study aimed to investigate whether difference ND-CNVs compared those without ND-CNVs, what extent diagnoses cognitive ability (IQ). Methods broader psychopathology was assessed 485 164 sibling controls, using the child adolescent assessment (CAPA). Autism Social Communication Questionnaire (SCQ), Intelligence Quotient (IQ) by Wechsler Abbreviated Scale (WASI). Results 54% met threshold for irritability; significantly more than controls (OR = 3.77, CI 3.07-7.90, p= 5.31 x 10 -11 ). When controlling presence other comorbidities, ND-CNV status still irritability. There no evidence relationship between IQ. Conclusions an important aspect clinical picture work shows that independent comorbidities IQ impairment. Clinicians should be aware this increased inform management interventions.

Families attending Queensland Children’s Hospital from community (n = 257) were assessed eligibility (child 2–10 years, diagnosed eczema, prescribed topical corticosteroids). who consented to participate (N 59) at baseline clinician-rated eczema severity, parent-reported symptom electronically-monitored corticosteroid adherence (primary outcomes); behavior, parents’ self-efficacy task performance when managing eczema-related child behavior problems, parent quality life (secondary outcomes). All offered standardized education. reassessed 4-weeks post-intervention 6-month follow-up, clinician-raters blinded condition. Costs delivery estimated. Results Multilevel modeling across assessment timepoints showed significant effects ineffective (d .60), .74), .81), confidence .63), but not disease/symptom treatment life. Mean cost per participating family (clinically) improved $159. Conclusions is effective in reducing practices improving children’s difficulties.
