Distance learning has emerged as a pivotal mode of education post-COVID-19, addressing challenges such geographical and infrastructural limitations. This study evaluates the influence personal support on academic performance students enrolled in distance at University Nairobi (UoN) Kenya Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD) Senegal. The was grounded Moore's Transactional Theory, which defines transactional gap between two parties relationship. used descriptive research design sample 240 drawn from target population 12,022 students. researcher purposive sampling to select universities for study. In addition, proportionate each faculty, simple random technique faculty. standardized questionnaires collect data participants. were administered with help assistants. applied both inferential statistics analysis. also regression analysis, goodness-of-fit evaluation, correlation analysis outcomes presented using tables graphs. identified significant positive learner performance, UoN exhibiting an R-squared value 62% UCAD 52%. Regression revealed that unit increase led 0.78 improvement 0.72 UCAD. underscores importance robust systems, including mentorship, counselling, guidance, enhancing effectiveness learning. It established there exist relationship performance. Recommendations include strengthening institutional frameworks exploring longitudinal impacts mechanisms.
