The organic pollutants disposed at the Sardas landfill in Sabiñánigo (Huesca, northeastern Spain) by INQUINOSA lindane factory have reached Gállego alluvial aquifer and could affect reservoir. daily oscillations of reservoir water level produce a tidal effect on piezometric heads aquifer. These are transmitted damped way with time lag, thus attesting that silting sediments natural silts interposed between layer sands gravels. A 2D finite element groundwater flow total dissolved hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) transport model through is presented here. was constructed to: (1) Quantify effect, produced fluctuations aquifer; (2) Estimate hydrodynamic parameters gravels; 3) vertical hydraulic conductivity silts; (4) aquifer/reservoir interactions. reproduces dynamics attests velocity direction changes response to level. Compound pollution at industrial sites impedes urban development, especially when there is a lack of understanding about the spatial variations internal in areas producing light-weight materials. In this study, distribution and ecological risks potentially toxic elements (PTEs), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), petroleum hydrocarbons (C10-40) soil groundwater an Al/Cu (aluminum/copper) site have been analyzed comprehensively. Results revealed progressive clustering pollutants different layers, which indicated varying levels penetration migration from surface downward. Furthermore, severity varied according to pollutant type, with Cu (5-10,228 mg kg

Being a famous hometown of vegetables in China, Shouguang City has long history vegetable cultivation and is comprehensive national commodity base for fruits. In recent decades, with the expansion agricultural production, use pesticides increasing. Although organochlorine (OCPs) have been banned, there are still some residues soil, groundwater other media. The study on migration OCPs soil great importance maintenance food security. Using methods hydrogeological survey, laboratory testing numerical simulation, spatial distribution characteristics, sources pollution degree were analyzed, transformation soil–groundwater was dynamically simulated predicted. showed that many kinds residual environment. hexachlorocyclohexane (HCHs) topsoil area mainly due to lindane, main source dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDTs) DDTs history. contents HCHs, hexachlorobenzene at low level, while content endosulfan metabolite sulfate comparatively higher. years, generally decreased. indexes can meet Standards Drinking Water quality China. The utilization of pesticides has experienced a substantial rise in order to enhance both the quantity and caliber produced goods. Agricultural runoff, major source nonpoint pollution, adversely impacts surface water, groundwater, soil sediment quality watershed. Especially, organochlorine have adverse effects on environment because their toxicity, persistence bioaccumulation. In this study, presence (DDTs- dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane HCHs- hexachlorocyclohexane) dryland agricultural watershed, was determined. For purpose, soil, water samples from landscape pond were collected. concentrations sediment, ranged 0.0005 0.0138 μg/L, 0.03 1.02 μg/kg, 0.54 52 respectively. these poses long-term risks terrestrial aquatic ecosystems. Sediment, as significant reservoir for contaminants, can act secondary releasing back into column under certain environmental conditions. Similarly, contamination not only affects plant health productivity but also leads further leaching runoff bodies. behavior toxic substance environment, which is pesticide, well-mixed lake modeled using mass balances lake. Statistical analysis, including paired t-test calculation Nash-Sutcliffe index, confirms consistency reliability model's predictions compared observed data. Simulated closely matched values, distribution patterns trends remained consistent across different months. Moreover, Risk Quotient (RQ) DDTs HCHs less than 0.1, indicating low ecological risk.
