People spend most of their time in offices and schools after homes. Workplaces can include both indoor outdoor areas. On the Ege University campus, academic administrative staff, students, patients visitors occupy a variety working environments for long periods throughout day. In this study, gamma dose rates were measured using portable radiation rate meter device at total 30 locations (17 outdoors 13 indoors) on campus over six-month period. The absorbed rates, annual effective equivalent doses excess lifetime cancer risk calculated from these measurements. results compared with limit values established by global studies other research conducted Türkiye, occupational health safety regulations. suitability findings terms has been evaluated.

This study evaluates the levels of natural radioactivity in surface soil samples across all districts Mardin Province, Turkiye, using data from Turkish Environmental Radioactivity Atlas. The activity concentration Ra-226, Th-232, K-40, and Cs-137 were re-mapped, radiological parameters (Raeq, DR, Hex, AEDE, AGDE, ELCR) calculated for an environmental risk assessment. average Ra-226 (33.66 Bq·kg−1) exceeded Turkiye but remained near UNSCEAR global median. Th-232 (29.37 was lower than both reference values, while K-40 (385.63 below higher (20.52 surpassed average, with highest value detected Yeşilli district (75.05 Bq·kg−1), suggesting anthropogenic influence. indicated that Raeq Hex values within safe limits districts. However, DR AEDE medians Ömerli Midyat, AGDE elevated six ELCR median only Ömerli. Artuklu, Derik, Kızıltepe, Mazıdağı, exhibited radioactivity, whereas Dargeçit, Nusaybin, Savur, had levels. Nusaybin identified as least radiologically hazardous district. Given these findings, should be considered when selecting new residential areas. Further studies increased number are recommended a more precise
