The presence of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in natural habitats has recently sparked increased concern. Vertical-flow constructed wetlands (VFCWs) represent a novel approach to reducing these new contaminants. In the current work, four laboratory-scale VFCW models with various substrates were built decrease oxytetracycline (OTC) ARGs. findings showed that combination zeolite activated carbon exhibited high OTC removal efficiency (up 97%), lesser accumulation than other experimental groups. Furthermore, had lowest absolute relative abundance This was ascribed synergistic benefits CW-D, which exceeded VFCWs terms ARGs efficiency. treatment groups considerable but not inhibitory impact on proliferation; this attributable fact many dominant bacteria community under stress antibiotic-resistant, allowing propagate more easily.
