Access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) has been a challenge south Asia's rapidly growing climate change-sensitive region. Nepal, water-abundant country, faces obstacles fulfilling the highly prioritized WASH Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6). This review offers details about Nepal's status from 2000 2020 with regard challenges Nepal had in delivering reliable services people, as well opportunities for sustainable way forward, provides insights that can be applied other developing countries. From analysis of national-level assessments, estimates point toward healthy progress extending access population. However, large inequalities persist at subnational level between urban rural residents, poor rich genders. Many local constraints such lack long-term infrastructural capacity provide maintain services, financial issues, institutional policy incompatibilities are some key factors technical considerations private sector involvement could address. ABSTRACT Arsenic contamination in the drinking water of Nepal, particularly Terai region, poses a serious public health challenge, as groundwater serves primary source for millions peoples. This study investigates prevalence, sources, and consequences arsenic contamination, employing recent data scientific analyses. Chronic exposure to is associated with severe complications, including skin lesions, various forms cancer, cardiovascular diseases, disproportionately affecting vulnerable populations. Despite ongoing efforts mitigate exposure, challenges remain effective identification management contaminated sources. Beyond accumulates soil crops, jeopardizing food safety. While traditional mapping methods are expensive, machine learning offers cost‐effective, high‐resolution solutions. Portable field kits enable rapid detection water, but proper disposal filtration waste remains challenge. Iron‐based biosand filters present viable interim solution comply standards set by Government while also effectively eliminating bacteria viruses.
