Purpose
Emergent
leadership
is
a
relatively
new
phenomenon,
suggesting
that
leaders
emerge
from
within
teams
without
having
formal
assigned
role.
While
emergent
has
much
relevance
in
today's
organizations
transitioning
vertical
to
horizontal
leadership,
there
paucity
of
research
about
the
process

team
members
become
influential

Design/methodology/approach
Using
purposive
sampling,
we
interview
40
individuals

agile
working

firms.
Findings
We
identify

traits,
experiences,
behaviors,
skills,
and

Abstract
Context
Responding
to
change

continuously

we
aim

Effective
leadership
is
one
of
the
key
drivers
business

project
