Sustainable development monitoring reveals the extent to which local and national territories are progressing towards sustainability goals. This study considered 105 indicators associated with Equitable Wellbeing (BES) framework 139 Development Goals (SDGs), using multicriteria decision analysis (MCDA) cluster compare regional performance across Italian territory in 2022. At SDG level, Lombardia exhibited highest performance, while provinces of Trento Bolzano led at BES level. The results were further analyzed respect geographic macro-areas three dimensions sustainability, via separate analyses comparing results. Northeast regions emerged as top performers, comparable was shown by center northwest. a sustainable innovation model, alongside territorial cooperation synergy between specificities, may generate competitive advantages, especially when combined resources skills an international profile.

Evaluating the sustainability of smart cities is crucial for promoting sustainable development. Traditionally, this evaluation process has traditionally been carried out using Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis approach. However, approach relies upon a unified input dataset, which can lead to oversimplification, particularly in context sustainability. Further, does not take account how evolves over time. This paper introduces time-based assessment technique that combines with an established method assessing performance variability, recognized as Preference Ranking Organization Method Enrichment Evaluations. The resulting framework, called Enhanced Evaluations, was used evaluate and communities across G20 countries, based on aggregated data, individual dimensions, scenarios. results demonstrate effectiveness, relevance, applicability new approach, provides significant advance field city by facilitating multi-period evaluations enabling multi-perspective assessments.
