Microorganisms

Abstract
The
pursuit
of
novel
food
products
with
good
nutritional
value
for
both
direct
and
indirect
human
consumption
is
crucial.
Given
the
benefits
insects
sustainability

Aquafeed
production
is
a
fast-growing
industry,
seeking
novel,
cost-efficient
raw
materials
to
diversify
traditional
ingredients

fish
meal
and
oil.
Insects,

larvae,

this
study,
co-products
from
two
major
fish-transforming
industries
in
the
Iberian
Peninsula,
i.e.,
tuna
heads
(THs)
codfish
frames
(CFs),
hydrolysates
of
THs
CFs,
TH
oils,
were
supplied
larvae
improve
their
profile

fatty
acids
(FAs),

EPA
DHA,
protein/amino
acid
