ABSTRACT This study examines the environmental determinants of CO 2 emissions across African countries from 2000 to 2020, employing Dynamic Common Correlated Effects (DCCE) and Bayesian Stochastic Quantile Regression (BSQR) approaches. The analysis reveals significant cross‐sectional dependence in variables, particularly renewable energy (51.2786, p < 0.01) forest coverage (33.2233, 0.01). DCCE estimation identifies substantial impacts area (−0.3818, (−0.0123, on reduction. Biocapacity demonstrates a notable transformational impact reductions (−54.1978, BSQR uncovers quantile‐dependent relationships, with energy's varying −0.001 at lower emission quantiles −2.641 higher quantiles. Government policy maintains consistent negative relationship (−0.0070, long run, while R&D increased importance (−0.0347, compared its Sensitivity confirms robustness these for population growth (−1.4613, std = 0.2569) (−0.2064, 0.0459). These findings suggest that effective Africa requires temporally calibrated, regionally coordinated green approaches account levels countries.

The escalating threat of climate change has placed carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions at the forefront global environmental policy. relationship between and information technology (IT) is crucial in shaping international strategies. This study investigates impact technology, trade globalisation (TG), economic complexity (EC) on CO2 BRICS countries using panel data from 1996 to 2018. analysis applies CUP-FM estimator assess long-run relationships Dumitrescu–Hurlin causality test evaluate directionality. results show that significantly reduces emissions. effect primarily driven by promotion service sector, reduced material use, improved energy efficiency. In contrast, an inconsistent impact. These findings suggest developing digital infrastructure green technologies Globalisation promote sustainable development economies. Therefore, policymakers should prioritise strengthening IT environment, fostering partnerships, integrating balance growth protection.
