Drought stress caused by climate change is increasingly affecting the productivity and quality of vegetable crops worldwide. This review comprehensively analyzes physiological, biochemical, molecular mechanisms that employ to cope with drought stress. In particular, it highlights significance key hormonal regulation pathways, such as abscisic acid (ABA), jasmonic (JA), ethylene (ET), which play crucial roles in mediating responses. Additionally, role antioxidant defense systems mitigating oxidative damage reactive oxygen species (ROS) discussed. Advances agricultural technologies, use smart irrigation biostimulants, have shown promising results enhancing resistance optimizing crop yields. Integrating these strategies development resistant varieties through gene editing traditional breeding techniques will ensure sustainable production stressed environments. aims support future research into enhance tolerance secure global food supply.
