Abstract The European chestnut (Castanea sativa) is an important nut crop that grows naturally in the Black Sea and Aegean regions of Turkey. This study examined genetic diversity population structure genotypes from prominent Turkey using Start Codon Targeted Polymorphism (SCoT) markers. A total 44 Turkish Aegean, Marmara, regions, along with a control group French variety, were analyzed. SCoT primers underwent tests to select most suitable ones, producing 8 selected amplified fragments, 65.34% which found be polymorphic. UPGMA PCoA analyses showed clear discrimination between two populations based on their origins, was supported by analysis. AMOVA analysis revealed 3% variation within 97% among individuals. out-group (French variety) furthest similarity, similarity values decreased increasing geographic distance. successfully fingerprinted could used future studies analyze phylogeny chestnuts genomic DNA.

Abstract Grape is a type of fruit widely grown globally and in Türkiye thanks to its importance human nutrition diversity usage areas. has long history grape cultivation, the genetic local grapes some regions still not been revealed. This study showed between 60 genotypes selected from north Central Anatolia nine reference cultivars;10 inter simple sequence repeats (ISSR) 7 inter-primer binding site (IPBS) retrotransposon primers were used. The mean values indices ISSR IPBS calculated as expected allelic frequency (p) 0.476/0.195, observed (q) 0.524/0.805, number effective alleles (Ne) 1.326/1.378, Shannon’s information index (I) 0.308/0.367, heterozygosity (He) 0.199/0.232 unbiased (uHe) 0.201/0.234, respectively. Unweighted pair group method with arithmetic (UPGMA) model-based STRUCTURE analysis divided studied germplasm into two groups. However, grouped per where they grew. As result molecular variance (AMOVA) analysis, inter-population variation was determined be 11%, intra-population 89%. differentiation value (Fst) populations 0.303. results that effectively explained diversity.

Abstract Marker-assisted breeding serves as a potent tool for screening target germplasm, assessing genetic diversity, and determining potential of crop. Therefore, inter primer binding site (iPBS)-retrotransposons marker system was employed to evaluate collection 33 Brassica genotypes, including 10 juncea , 5 B. oleracea 7 Sinapis alba nigra 6 rapa were utilized their diversity variations polymorphic primers that generated total 144 bands. Various indices calculated in the studied polymorphism information content (0.13–0.30), effective number alleles (1.217–1.689), Shannon’s index (0.244–0.531), gene (0.148–0.370). These collectively affirmed substantial within germplasm. Molecular variance analysis revealed majority (62%) present populations. The accessions categorized into three populations utilizing model-based structure algorithm. Evaluation based on indicated III II exhibited higher diversity. Principal coordinate neighbor-joining further corroborated distinct populations, confirming reliability STRUCTURE analysis. Notably, distance assessment identified BN1 BN3 from species genotypes BO1 BO3 B . genetically diverse mustard accessions. extensive observed germplasm underscores its significance valuable resource comprehensive programs. Moreover, these hold promise suitable candidates heterosis initiatives aimed at improving production.

The grape is one of the most produced and processed horticultural crops. This study evaluated genetic resource belonging to Vitis labrusca species. diversity was assessed according morphometric, antioxidant, physicochemical, colorimetric characteristics. using a variation index multivariate analyses. bunch weight vines exhibited range from 21.05 g 162.46 g, with coefficient (CV) 38.97%. average 64.74 g. Abstract Hazelnuts are widely employed in various dietary practices, making them one of the most frequently utilized nuts. This study morphologically, chemically, and molecularly characterized a new hazelnut genotype throughout 2018 to 2020 growing seasons. The variety burst leaf buds between 10 th 15 April reached harvest maturity 5 September. bore mean 2.33 nuts per cluster, with majority clusters consisting double triple means nut weight was 2.38 g, kernel 1.35 ratio 56.81%, shell thickness 0.96 mm, size 18.32 14.77 good 91.7%, protein content 13.5%, oil 55.8%, oleic acid 81.43%, linoleic 10.68%. genetic similarity rate standard Çakıldak, Palaz, Tombul cultivars, as well randomly selected Çakıldak clones from region, ranged 0.58 0.98. Additionally, polymorphism varied 45.5 100%. On average, investigated exhibited distinctiveness 38% compared same 47% cultivars. Consequently, this could serve valuable material for breeding programs through promising quality, potentially be registered cultivar.

Raisins are a significant grape product with an annual trade volume of approximately USD 2 billion. There various methods employed for drying grapes into raisins. This study aimed to investigate the effects different on raisins, specifically, without pretreatment (SD), treatment potassium carbonate (5%) containing 2% olive oil (POT), and ashy water 2.5% (AOW). The examined changes in raisin weight, physicochemical characteristics, total phenolics, antioxidant anthocyanin contents, color properties, protein content three varieties: Deyvani, Haseni, Reşek. results indicated that POT resulted lightest raisins Deyvani (0.48 g) Reşek (0.58 g), while Haseni exhibited heaviest (0.64 under same treatment. variations characteristics were relatively limited compared observed phenolic properties. Nontreated had lowest across all varieties. Protein was significantly affected by treatment, AOW SD treatments comparatively minor. slightly brighter but lower findings this highlight differential varieties, emphasizing importance considering variety-specific approach when selecting method.
