Abstract Plant elicitation provides multi-benefits to plant development and defense, besides helping make agriculture more sustainable. However, the use of wrong experimental designs technics directly affects results obtained. This favors generation biased unreliable data. Therefore, an investigation was conducted assess eliciting potential a red seaweed biostimulant (RSB) alone or in combination with fungicide total controlled conditions on wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.) plants. Catalase, superoxide dismutase, ascorbate peroxidase, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL), salicylic acid (SA) content, powdery mildew incidence, photosynthetic rates, water efficiency were assessed different periods after application elicitor. The RSB prevented incidence resulted negative rates downregulated activity some enzymes. A greater PAL did not warrant accumulation SA Overall, negatively affected wheat’s primary specialized metabolisms when compared alone.

Hydrogels have gained significant attention in various applications, including agriculture, owing to their exclusive characteristics, such as great water retention and controlled delivery of fertilizers agrochemicals. In this study, a nanocomposite hydrogel bead with exceptional slow-release capacity for urea fertilizer has been fabricated by appropriately combining urea, silica nanoparticles, chitosan. The developed beads not only enable the efficient nutrients plants over long period but also enhance sandy soil, resulting minimally negative impacts on environment. were simply prepared dropping method. To effectively control release from beads, mesoporous nanoparticles (MSNs) diameter 56 nm synthesized used load (UM). Subsequently, UM hybrid was incorporated into chitosan matrix form (UMCS). spherical shape high stability. They exhibited sustained month biodegradable soil. showed good swelling degree maximum value 250% at pH 3. Moreover, beads-embedded soil revealed significantly greater than without beads. These results suggested that possess application potential smart agriculture.

Cereal crops are essential for providing nutrients and energy in the daily human diet. Additionally, they have a crucial role as significant constituent of cattle feed, hence enhancing meat production. Drought, being an abiotic stressor, adversely affects growth yield numerous on global scale. This issue poses pressing obstacle to maintaining cereal crop production ensuring food security. Nanoparticles become valuable resource improving productivity under ongoing rapid climate change escalating drought conditions. Among these, silica nanoparticles (SiNPs) demonstrated their potential agricultural applications regions with limited water availability. Drought stress has detrimental effects crops, impacting growth, metabolic, physiological processes, hampering nutrient absorption, disrupting cellular membranes, damaging photosynthetic apparatus, reducing antioxidant activities by altering gene expression. SiNPs help preserve regulate balance, improve resulting substantial enhancement plant water-deficit also protect system enhance its efficiency, facilitate accumulation phenolics, hormones, osmolytes, activities, expression, thus empowering plants increased resistance stress. Moreover, decrease leaf loss promoting stomatal closure, primarily fostering abscisic acid (ABA) mitigating oxidative damage activating defence reactive oxygen species (ROS). However, number studies examine In this review, we highlighted promising resilience changing morpho-histological traits, properties, expression maintain security drought-prone areas. study will aid researchers using environmentally benign way order fulfill supply needs.
