Comprehensive evaluation of compound saline-alkali tolerance and gene mining by GWAS in Vicia faba L.
Abstract
Background:
Faba
bean
(Vicia
faba
L.)
is
a
crucial
cool-season
legume
crop,
which
highly
valued
for
its
high
protein
content
and
key
role
in
crop
rotation
systems.
Considering
the
increasing
threat
of
soil
salinity
alkalinity
globally,
it
critical
to
screen
germplasm
resources
with
salt
alkali
tolerance
faba
identify
underlying
genes.
Results:
In
this
study,
12
morphological
physiological
traits
under
compound
saline-alkali
stress
were
measured
evaluate
240
based
on
principal
component
analysis.
The
results
showed
that
biomass-related
such
as
fresh
weight
shoot
leaf
number
had
relatively
weights
evaluation
at
seedling
stage,
38
tolerant
materials
identified.
A
total
242
SNPs
affecting
identified
genome-wide
association
study
accessions,
57
significantly
associated
7
by
GLM
MLM
models.
It
was
found
10
genes
(such
L-GalLDH ,
ZAT4 ,
GA20ox2 )
overlapped
reported
related
salt-alkali
or
resistance
functional
annotation
candidate
Conclusions:
Which
enhanced
our
understanding
regulatory
network
beans
provided
genetic
potential
targets
molecular
design
breeding
bean.
