The increasing complexity of healthcare delivery and the advancements in medical technology have highlighted necessity for improved training nursing education. While traditional methods their merits, they often encounter challenges such as limited access to clinical placements, static physical simulations, performance anxiety during hands-on practice. Virtual reality (VR) has been increasingly adopted immersive interactive environments, allowing students practice essential skills repeatedly realistic, risk-free settings. This study presents NursingXR, a VR-based platform designed help master skills. With scalable flexible architecture, NursingXR is tailored support variety lessons adapt evolving curricula. modular design offers two modes: Training Mode, which provides step-by-step guided instruction, Evaluation allows independent assessment. article details development process platform, including key principles, system implementation strategies, while emphasizing its utility scalability. A mixed-methods evaluation involving 78 participants—both novices experts—was conducted evaluate platform’s usability user satisfaction. results underscore NursingXR’s effectiveness fostering an effective engaging learning environment well potential supplementary resource training.

Augmented reality (AR) technology has the potential to extend beyond its predominant use in medicine, particularly investigating motor learning for skill-based tasks. However, research on head-mounted AR displays (HMD-AR) pattern remains limited, especially tactical applications. This study conducts a scoping review compare technologies with existing methods complex tasks like aim training. Among 21 reviewed articles, only one explored HMD-AR, highlighting significant gap. Findings emphasize need further HMD-AR’s role developing skills populations.

Abstract The training of a fire investigator should lay the foundations for systematic, evidence‐based, and unbiased analysis scene. ability investigators to determine origin, cause development is gained through education, experience based on on‐the‐job focused continuous professional (CPD). Practitioners have met these requirements several decades formal examinations specialized training. Additionally, countries provide in full‐scale (simulated) scenes public private sector investigators. These may also be used ongoing competency proficiency testing. However, simulated scene setups are costly, limited single excavation event, often short‐lived due deterioration upon use ease contamination. COVID‐19 pandemic highlighted need, provided opportunity, developing both virtual/hybrid competence testing, prompting exploration novel technologies this area. A cross‐border multi‐agency partnership between academics, forensic practitioners, scientists explored feasibility leveraging digitalization techniques support immersive virtual reality (VR). We outline critical aspects beyond challenges connected technical feasibility, which science judicial community demand so that technological would considered admissible within justice system.
