Prior studies indicated the positive effects of probiotics on glycemic regulation in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Nonetheless, results remain inconclusive. To address this, we conducted an umbrella meta-analysis to evaluate impact indicators GDM. A comprehensive search was PubMed and Scopus databases identify all relevant meta-analyses randomized clinical trials published until July 2024. The outcomes included serum hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c), fasting blood insulin (FBI), sugar (FBS), homeostatic model assessment for resistance (HOMA-IR), quantitative sensitivity check index (QUICKI), beta cell function (HOMA-B), C-peptide, oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). Standardized mean difference (SMD) used effects. In total, 27 studies, comprising 33,378 participants, were analysis. Probiotics resulted a significant decrease FBS (SMD: -0.39, 95% CI: -0.56 -0.23), especially when administered ≤ 7 weeks. Significant reductions also observed FBI -1.99, -2.41 -1.58), HOMA-IR -0.61, -0.72 -0.50), HOMA-B -24.58, -30.59 -18.56). Moreover, supplementation significantly improved QUICKI 0.007, 0.004 0.01). Supplementation could improve control women HOMA-IR, HOMA-B, clinically important, while, their not important.

The disparity between increased lifespan and healthy aging, marked by prevalent "inflammaging", highlights the global challenge in care of older persons. This study explored anti-inflammatory effects Lactiplantibacillus plantarum HEAL9 (LpHEAL9), alone or combined with berries, on volunteers chronic low-grade inflammation (LGI). It was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, total 66 (> 70 years old), randomly assigned, equally distributed, to placebo, LpHEAL9 + Berries group. After 2-week run-in period, participants underwent 4-week dietary intervention. Intake showed trend towards reduction serum CRP but without reaching statistical significance. However, significantly decreased fecal calprotectin levels compared placebo. LpHEAL9+Berries did not show any effect inflammation. Both probiotic groups improving cognitive function albeit Our findings suggest that strain L. has modest impact LGI population (ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT02342496).

Patients with metabolic disorders benefit from using anthocyanins. Nevertheless, the findings drawn extant trials remain contentious. Thus, this meta-analysis evaluated anthocyanin's effect on inflammatory biomarkers in patients disorders. We comprehensively searched electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and CENTRAL, their inception to June 14, 2024. A total 11 randomized controlled clinical 14 arms were analyzed. There was no significant anthocyanin supplementation interleukin (IL)-1β levels (standardized mean difference [SMD] = -0.01, 95% CI: -0.33, 0.31; P 0.941, I 2 62.4%, 0.031), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) (SMD -0.49, -1.07, 0.09; 0.098, 94.0%, < 0.001) IL-6 -0.69, -1.45, 0.06; 0.073, 95.2%, 0.001), respectively. between-study heterogeneity identified, which reduced when subgrouping by sample size, dosage, study population. However, subgroup analysis showed that it might decrease TNF-α hypertension, if intervention lasted less than 12 weeks. impact IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6; however, should be noted has a decreasing individuals hypertension. Our observed sizes are not clinically important.
