Abstract Understanding the evolving role of different age groups in virus transmission dynamics is essential for informed pandemic management. This study delves into age-related patterns SARS-CoV-2 Belgium from November 2020 to February 2022. We employed a next-generation matrix approach, integrating longitudinal social contact data and numerical simulations population susceptibility. A perturbation analysis effective reproduction number (Rt ) underscored age-specific patterns. From December 2020, adults aged [18,60) were main contributors Rt (≈ 78%), with children [0,12) having marginal 3.7%). pattern shifted between January March 2021, coinciding in-person education resumption Alpha variant emergence; children’s contribution increased ≈ 38%. Stringent measures 2021 significantly reduced levels, substantially downsizing [18,30) group. Following summer school break, September-October we observed notable resurgence . Our findings highlight noteworthy varying influence group on transmission, offering insights design nuanced responses, e.g., that balance public health needs socio-educational implications interventions like extended closures. Overall, this demonstrates effectiveness our methodology uncovering infectious disease spread.

Although a growing body of research has analyzed the determinants and effects technostress, it is still unclear how when technostress would impact workers' psycho-physical health work-family interface during pandemic. To fill this gap, study tests mediating mechanisms boundary conditions associated with on well-being conflict. A total 266 Italian workers completed online questionnaires measuring (traditional vs. remote) working modalities, fear COVID-19, excessively, distress, conflict, loss loved one due to resilience. Structural equation models were performed. Results indicated that was positively related distress as mediated by COVID-19 respectively. The exacerbated health, while resilience buffered excessively Since numerous organizations intend maintain remote also after emergency, crucial phenomenon its peaks adoption, prevent potential negative outcomes. implications these findings for theory practice are discussed.
