The current study investigates the moderating role of parental overprotection and insecure mother–child attachment on association between adaptive emotion regulation (ER) strategies vegetative somatoform symptoms in children. A sample 221 primary (Grade 4) school children completed questionnaires assessing symptoms, ER strategies, attachment. Their parents a questionnaire for overprotection. In contrast to our assumption, relation use is only moderated by Insecure child–caregiver plays no moderation role. results support assumption that interaction factor “parental overprotection” an important explaining occurrence maintenance This underlines importance undergo process adjustment age‐adequate way regulating their emotions, which does not impair children’s own competences, example, autonomous strategies.
