Trajectory optimization is a method of finding the optimal route connecting start and end point. The suitability trajectory depends on not intersecting any obstacles, as well predefined performance metrics. In context unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), goal to minimize cost, in terms energy or time, while avoiding restricted flight zones. Artificial intelligence techniques, including evolutionary computation, have been applied with varying degrees success. This work explores use genetic programming (GP) for 3D by developing novel GP algorithm optimize trajectories space encoding geographic function trees. effects parameterization are also explored discussed, demonstrating advantages drawbacks custom parameter settings along additional computational techniques. results demonstrate effectiveness proposed algorithm, which outperforms existing methods speed, automaticity, robustness, highlighting potential GP-based algorithms be other complex problems science engineering.
