Equine-Assisted Services (EAS) offer significant benefits for individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. However, ensuring the welfare of horses involved remains a key ethical concern. The objective this study was to assess affective states in EAS while also establishing behavioural thresholds indicators positive or negative states. A total 98 were observed over two-month period, accumulating data about horse behaviour and session characteristics from 830 sessions. Horses participating coaching programs averaged four sessions two months; those therapeutic riding 31 Equine field experts defined standards. Negative state behaviours predominantly aligned within excellent neutral thresholds, unacceptable excellent. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) gathered identified six riding, explaining 63% 73% variation, respectively. Among these states, "comfortable" most frequently observed. Multiple linear regression showed several variables, highlighting importance health, suitable selection, proper management promoting EAS.
