This mixed-method study investigated vaccine hesitancy among pregnant women living in rural western United States and their response to social media ads promoting COVID-19 uptake. Thirty or recently participants who live zip codes Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho were interviewed between November 2022 March 2023. Interviews transcribed coded, while the ad ratings analyzed using linear mixed models. The identified five main themes related uptake, including perceived risk of COVID, sources health information, hesitancy, relationships with care providers. Participants rated most highly that used peer-based messengers negative outcome-based content. Ads faith-based elder significantly lower than peer (p = 0.04 0.001, respectively).
