Abstract The present research investigated the properties of epoxy resin nanocomposites containing POSS and silica nanoparticles modified by chitosan effect type weight percent on nanocomposites. modification (CS) improved mechanical thermal performance nanocomposites, as evidenced higher tensile strength, stability, ash content. At 1 wt.% POSS, incorporation resulted in Young's modulus 417 MPa, value 717 MPa was obtained when CS used. Also, 9.48%, while 11.73%. curing behavior also influenced heating rate nanoparticle According to cure index calculations, all nanocomposite samples showed excellent cure. exhibited increased hydrophobicity with polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS) content, which could reduce susceptibility bacterial microbial contamination. morphology revealed that fracture toughness dispersion matrix. results indicated surface optimize adjusting content nanoparticles, coatings have potential applications biomedicine. Mosquitoes still pose a clear risk to human and animal health. Recently, nanomaterials have been considered one of the cost-effective solutions this problem. Therefore, alumina nanoparticles (Al) were synthesized using an auto-combustion method, followed by calcination at 600 800 °C. Glucose (G) sucrose (Su) used as fuels combustion was performed pH 2, 7, 10. The as-synthesized Al2O3 characterized XRD, FTIR, SEM, TEM. Alumina prepared G Su 7 °C (Al-G7-800 Al-Su7-800) crystallite sizes 3.9 4.05 nm, respectively. While samples (Al-G7-600 Al-Su7-600) amorphous. applied larval pupal stages Culex pipiens. results showed that cause higher mortality in 1st instar than all other instars pipiens after treatment high concentration 200 ppm. Additionally, duration with LC50 concentrations 31.7 23.6 days, respectively, compared control (13.3 days). recorded data found content glutathione-S-transferase, alkaline/acid phosphatase, β/α-esterase, total protein altered upon (Al-G7-800) nanoparticles. Based on these findings, are promising candidate potential weapon pests mosquitoes.

A novel hybrid of a quercetin-loaded silica-chitosan, modified by crosslinked gelatin-folate was developed in the current study as pH-sensitive drug delivery system. The entrapment efficiency quercetin measured at about 77%. release pattern investigated acidic and natural media (pH 5.6 pH = 7.4) for 96 h. In-vitro from unmodified carriers exhibited rapid early times (57 39% after 24 h neutral media), which followed slower release. However, behavior improved modifying carrier with layer.
