Partner phubbing and relational aggression in romantic relationships among young adults in China: the roles of social support and gender

Phubbing may have significant interpersonal consequences. This study examines the association between partner phubbing and relational aggression, mediation effect of social support, moderation gender among young Chinese adults. A total 772 adults currently in a romantic relationship participated an online survey that assessed their phubbing, support (i.e., ideal actual discrepancy support). The results show was positively significantly correlated with aggression for males females, respectively. Actual partially mediated all participants. Regarding difference, females but were not mediators males. These findings suggest had on relationships both male female Social play role only. Tailored interventions to prevent negative consequences are warranted.
