The Eurasian beaver ( Castor fiber ) is the largest European rodent. This endangered species an ecosystem engineer capable of providing several positive impacts in ecosystems. However, it also a cause frequent conflicts with humans. In 2020, population Czech Republic reached 14,610 individuals, highest numbers Pilsen, Olomouc and Southern Moravian regions. Concurrently, beavers were most often admitted to rehabilitation centres these regions, their total increased period from 2010 2020 (p < 0.01). Beavers after falls into pits other openings (29.76% animals) collision vehicle (11.9%). Almost half (47.62%) released wild recovery. mortality rates differed for different causes admission, (70%) bite wounds (67%). There was no significant difference > 0.01) length stay that being treated monitored admission. view results, important place particular emphasis on preventive interventions nature reducing anthropogenic risks educating public about beneficial activities this species.

Identifying suitable areas and potential expansion corridors for alien species that can pose negative environmental socio-economic impacts is essential to guide prevention, monitoring, management activities. The Northern raccoon Procyon lotor an significantly EU biodiversity society. This currently widespread in most of Central Europe, with increasing populations southern eastern countries. In this study, we developed distribution models identify the highest suitability Europe. Then, employed connectivity modeling assess ecological across Species confirmed broad preferences species, predicting large Europe be raccoons. Connectivity showed a generally high central western highlighted mountain ranges intensive agricultural and/or low annual precipitation levels as main barriers dispersal. We identified five connecting European Southern Our results useful may prioritized allocate monitoring containment efforts, order constrain further
