Chiral aminomethylnaphthols have been prepared highly diastereoselective by means of three-component “Betti condensation”, using steroidal 2-naphthol analogue, synthesized from estrone. The use 2-methoxybenzaldehyde or 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde as aldehyde component and (S)-(–)-1-phenylethan-1-amine (S)-(–)-1-(naphthalen-2-yl)ethan-1-amine, chiral non-racemic amine providing the diastereoselectivity, allowed synthesis structurally diverse aminomethylnaphthols. latter easily form 1,3-dihydronaphthoxazines through reaction with formaldehyde. absolute configurations new determined advanced nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiments confirmed X-ray crystallography. obtained pure diastereoisomers evaluated pre-catalysts in enantioselective addition diethylzinc to aldehydes enantioselectivities up 97% ee.

Although the typical antioxidant, N-(1,3-dimethylbutyl)-N′-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine (6PPD), ensures high durability and long lifespan for rubber compounds, it generates a highly toxic quinone in water, causing serious environmental pollution. Herein, as an alternative material of 6PPD, we newly introduce eco-friendly amine-functionalized lignin (AL) to be incorporated rubber, which can provide excellent combinatorial antiaging properties thermal stability ozone/fatigue resistances through radical scavenging effect. The heterolytic ring-opening reaction AL sulfur accelerate curing improve cross-link density by 28% (v, 4.107 × 10–4 mol/cm3), consequently reducing ozone vulnerable areas matrix further improving aging resistance. Notably, allows its compound exhibit superior anti-ozone performance after aging, with arithmetic surface roughness (Sa) 2.077 μm, should compared that 6PPD (4.737 μm). developed chemically modified methodology have enormous potential promising additive future compounds. lignin-based antioxidant manufactured amination has reduce pollution industry.

2D covalent organic framework (COF) materials with extended conjugated structure and periodic columnar π-arrays exhibit promising applications in optoelectronics. However, there is a scarcity of reports on optoelectronic COFs, mainly due to the lack suitable π-skeletons. Here, two multi-functional COFs DPP-TPP-COF DPP-TBB-COF are constructed diketopyrrolopyrrole as electron acceptor (A), 1,3,6,8-tetraphenylpyrene 1,3,5-triphenylbenzene donor (D) through imine bonds. Both showed good crystallinities AA stacking rhombic for hexagonal one DPP-TBB-COF, respectively. The D-A ordered intermolecular packing structures endow broad UV-vis absorptions narrow bandgaps along HOMO/LUMO energy levels, resulting properties, including photothermal conversion, supercapacitor property, ambipolar semiconducting behavior. Abstract A rapid, simple, and efficient one-pot protocol has been developed for the sustainable synthesis of 1-[(1,3-benzothiazol-2-ylamino)methyl]-2-naphthols from substituted 2-aminobenzothiazoles, aryl aldehydes, 2-naphthol by using 5 mol% a Bronsted acid ionic liquid as catalyst. This method offers several advantages such broad substrate scope, short reaction time, procedure, benign medium, high yield low catalyst loading. Moreover, can be recycled up to three times without noteworthy loss in catalytic activity.

Abstract A green multi‐component approach for the synthesis of a new series bis‐Betti base derivatives via Mannich‐type reaction was developed based on one‐pot pseudo five‐component 5,5′‐methylenebis(thiazol‐2‐amine), aromatic aldehydes and 2‐naphthol in presence p ‐toluenesulfonic acid as organocatalyst under solvent‐free conditions. The attractive features this method are operational simplicity, metal‐free conditions, environmentally friendly, high atom‐economy, shorter time, broad substrate scope, easy workup procedure, purification products by nonchromatographic methods good to yields.

Two aminobenzylnaphthols, which are representative items of the family compounds synthesized with Betti reaction, were investigated as antiproliferative agents against adenocarcinoma human colorectal (Caco-2) and neuroblastoma (SH-SY5Y) cell lines, using cisplatin a positive control. A better activity was recorded after 24 h incubation for first tested molecule, whereas other one more effective 72 incubation. These results support hypothesis that both aminobenzylnaphthols could potentially be endowed biological activity.
