Pharmacogenomics (PGx) is a powerful tool for clinical optimization of drug efficacy and safety. However, due to many factors affecting drugs in the real world, PGx still accounts small proportion actual application scenarios. Therefore, based on information software, pharmacists use their professional advantages integrate into all aspects pharmaceutical care, which conducive promoting development personalized medicine. In this paper, establishment an software platform summarized medication program PGx. Taking colorectal cancers (CRC) as example, paper also discusses role different working modes participation management CRC patients by with help systems. Finally, we recommendations guidelines provide reference follow-up care.

Pharmacogenetic (PGx) testing is a promising approach for optimizing drug therapies. However, there limited knowledge regarding its real-world utilization and long-term impact in clinical practice. This study assessed how often PGx information informs treatment decisions evaluated patients’ perspectives on use non-use, identifying enablers implementation. A mixed-methods was conducted with 24 patients median of 1 year after testing. Medication health-related data were collected at enrollment the follow-up later using semi-structured questionnaire. At follow-up, 62 medication changes identified 18 patients. four per patient initiated mainly by medical specialists (58%). considered 15 39 (63%). Patient-reported factors contributing to non-use included lack interest among healthcare professionals (HCPs), structural administrative barriers, an over-reliance advocacy. Potential should address targeted education, interprofessional collaboration, awareness policymakers, concise recommendations focused PGx-actionable drugs from providers. By implementing these interdependent enablers, can evolve into long-term, clinically integrated cornerstone individualized pharmacotherapy.

Since the rebirth of pharmacogenomics (PGx) in 1990s and 2000s, with new discoveries genetic variation underlying adverse drug response analytical technologies such as sequencing microarrays, there has been much interest clinical application PGx testing. The early involvement pharmacists studies establishment organizations to support dissemination information about variants have naturally resulted leaders implementation. This paper presents an overview evolving role pharmacists, discusses potential challenges future paths, primarily focused U.S. Pharmacists positioned themselves testing, will prepare next generation utilize testing their scope practice.

Genetic predisposition is one factor influencing interindividual drug response. Pharmacogenetic information can be used to guide the selection and dosing of certain drugs. However, implementation pharmacogenetics (PGx) in clinical practice remains challenging. Defining a formal structure, as well concrete procedures clearly defined responsibilities, may facilitate increase use PGx practice. Over 140 patient cases from an observational study Switzerland formed basis for design refinement pharmacist-led testing counselling service (PGx service) interprofessional setting. Herein, we six-step approach, including: (1) referral; (2) pre-test-counselling; (3) testing; (4) medication review; (5) counselling; (6) follow-up. The approach supports importance collaboration role pharmacists across healthcare settings.

There is growing evidence that pharmacogenetic analysis can improve drug therapy for individual patients. In Switzerland, pharmacists are legally authorized to initiate tests. However, tests rarely conducted in Swiss pharmacies. Therefore, we aimed identify implementation strategies facilitate the integration of a pharmacist-led service into clinical practice. To achieve this, semi-structured interviews with and physicians regarding process service. We utilized Consolidated Framework Implementation Research (CFIR) potential facilitators barriers process. Additionally, employed Expert Recommendations Implementing Change (ERIC) mentioned used CFIR-ERIC matching tool additional strategies. obtained interview responses from nine physicians. From these responses, identified 7 CFIR constructs as 12 barriers. Some most commonly included unclear procedures, lack cost coverage by health care insurance, insufficient pharmacogenetics knowledge, interprofessional collaboration, communication patient, inadequate e-health technologies. 23 interviewees using ERIC 45 tool. summary, found significant hinder this new hope highlighting strategies, advance Switzerland.
