In response to the challenges faced by post-disaster construction, present study endeavours offer an improved solution in a practical manner. To this end, critical analysis of modular systems that can be employed construction is conducted, which succeeded set required features. Considering these features, system based on prefabricated components (MPC) presented, effectively eliminates all hitches while demonstrating facilitated solutions. From standpoint, comprehensive description structure’s dimensions, assembly steps and design constraints are proffered, accompanied primary structural factoring highest risk categories. The applicability limitations scenarios also discussed comparison other methods. findings indicate exhibits high levels disjoint-ability collectability, flexibility customisability, developability repairability, addition being cost- time-efficient. Furthermore, it demonstrates favourable predicaments posed situations, such as logistics, process, safety, seismic behaviour environmental effects. Overall, research highlights potential MPC delivers valuable output for policymakers, managers, architects engineers involved regard.

Wildfires can lead to drastic environmental changes that pose a threat communities’ understandings of place. While previous research has explored the connections between change and place attachment, less is known about relationship meanings disasters in combination with other drivers such as demographic dynamics climate change. The main goal this article enhance understanding how wildfire-related experiences impact meanings. Through semi-structured interviews communities who were affected by wildfires rural Colorado, we clarify neglected attachment Specifically, identify are channeled through different dimensions namely affection awareness. By differentiating these two dimensions, indicate practical possibilities for addressing climatic change, community building, education on resource conservation, wildfire–risk management.

Abstract This chapter examines the collective nature of mobility responses generated in response to climate change. Whether impacted populations are forcibly displaced, relocate preserve livelihoods, or strive remain place, myriad social, economic, political, and biophysical changes that unfold a changing often induce action geared toward ameliorating challenges relocation preserving place-based social cultural ties. Climate-related mobilities difficult categorize within existing migration classificatory systems. further complicates prospects for vulnerable obtain support, protection, capacity exercise self-determination deciding if, when, how move as effects change become more pronounced. takes global perspective with special attention cases Latin America, Southeast Asia, Africa, well Global North.

Abstract The scale of wildfire impacts to the built environment is growing and will likely continue under rising average global temperatures. We investigate whether at what destruction threshold wildfires have influenced human mobility patterns by examining migration effects most destructive in contiguous U.S. between 1999 2020. find that only extreme (258+ structures destroyed) patterns. In contrast, majority examined were less did not cause significant changes out- or in-migration. These findings suggest that, for past two decades, influence on population was rare operated primarily through environment.
