ABSTRACT
The
measurement
of
competitiveness
requires
the
consideration
factors
specific
to
a
region
or
country.
This
article
addresses
identification
basic
set
that,
in
comparison
with
European
countries,
impact
Latin
American
countries.
A
retrospective
nonexperimental
design
was
carried
out
by
conducting
non‐parametric
correlation
analysis,
testing
subsequently
multiple
linear
regression
as
well
structural
equation
analysis.
Next,
different
predictive
models
were
considered,
and
four
main
variables
explaining
Europe
America
identified
from
Global
Competitiveness
Report.

Purpose
The
purpose

study

on

corruption.
Design/methodology/approach
This

dynamic
approach

countries
over

Corruption
is
a
complex
social,
economic
and
political
phenomenon,
which
exists
in
all
countries.
The
structural
characteristics
of
corruption
differ
between
deeper
roots
depend
on
the
individual
conditions
each
country,
whereas
they
can
be
detected
bureaucratic
tradition,
development
social
history,
among
others.
At
policy
level,
associated
reform
measures
are
inadequate
if
not
supported
by
appropriate
institutional
framework

governance
practices.
However,

policies
that

endemic
problems
