Corruption is a complex social, economic and political phenomenon, which exists in all countries. The structural characteristics of corruption differ between deeper roots depend on the individual conditions each country, whereas they can be detected bureaucratic tradition, development social history, among others. At policy level, associated reform measures are inadequate if not supported by appropriate institutional framework good governance practices. However, case policies that applied order to combat fail, it evolves from occasional endemic problems impeding efforts limit corruption. ABSTRACT The measurement of competitiveness requires the consideration factors specific to a region or country. A retrospective nonexperimental design was carried out by conducting non‐parametric correlation analysis, testing subsequently multiple linear regression as well structural equation analysis. Purpose The purpose of the present study is to test effect financial development and environmental degradation on control corruption. Design/methodology/approach This used a dynamic approach known as system GMM analyze annual data from 90 developed developing countries over 24 years, 1996 2020.
