Recreational
fishing
surveys

fisheries
management.

ABSTRACT

regional

ABSTRACT
Fishing
tourism

Abstract
In
this
paper,
we
use
world
record
Paddlefish
Polyodon
spathula
catches
to
exemplify
the
origins
and
management
of
trophy
fisheries
human
motivations
involved
within
a
continually
compressing
timescape
advancing
fish
finding,
harvest
capability,
communication
information
technologies.
Conservation
long-lived
species
such
as
Paddlefish,
sturgeons
(Acipenseridae),
or
other
large
currently
challenged
by
ecological
change
habitat
losses
may
be
further
expansion
power
through
advances
in
fishing
technology
pursuit
fish.
Technological
evolution
outpace
adaptive
abilities
managers
safeguard
these
with
sensible
regulations—often
multi-year,
bureaucratic
process.
Managers
must
maintain
focus
on
understanding

Abstract
Why
do
people
fish
for
recreation?
Social
science
literature
suggests
that
both
catch
(e.g.,
number
or
sizes
of
fish)
and
non‐catch
dimensions
nature
experience,

After
reviewing
the

psychology,
neuroscience,
anthropology,
recreational
fisher
motivation
