Abstract
Global
concerns
about
low
levels
of
teacher
job
satisfaction
(JS)
have
brought
the
significance

mechanisms

issue.

role
emotional
intelligence
(EI),
a
critical
personal
resource,
in

emerged
as
an

topic.
Utilizing
Job
Demands‐Resources
model,
present
study
proposed
chain
mediation
model
explore
relationship
between
EI

JS.

emotion
(ENFE)

closeness

503
Chinese
primary
secondary
school
teachers

workplace
atmospheres

English-as-a
Foreign-Language
(EFL)
teachers’
emotions
and
classroom

climate

emotional

job
attrition
has
not
been
addressed.

fill
this
gap,
qualitative
study,
we
used
a
semi-structured
interview
with
39
Chinese
EFL
teachers

backgrounds
better
understand
its
relationship
attrition,
including
perceptions

factors

relationships.

analysis
revealed
claims
that

prevented
by
positive
climate.
