Abstract Despite the promise of new gene editing technologies (GETs) (e.g., CRISPR) in accelerating sustainable agri-food production, social acceptability these remains unclear. Trehalose is a common energy reservoir, and its accumulation results in osmotic protection. This sugar can accumulate through synthesis or slow degradation of the reservoir by trehalase enzymes. Saccharomyces cerevisiae contains two neutral trehalases, NTH1 NTH2, responsible for 75% 25% enzymatic metabolism. We were interested loss-of-function both enzymes with CRISPR/Cas9. The later NTH2 was great importance since it minor metabolic this sugar. It believed that losing functionality limited constructed an osmotolerant superior yeast capable growing 0.85 M NaCl after independent nth21271_1272delTA mutation CRISPR/Cas9 technology, compared nth1 893_894insT wild type. suggest model could give clues to breeding commercial resulting non-GMO salinity-tolerant strains.

Life has always remained a profound mystery, especially with the issue of inheritance, where no one knew how information was transmitted or stored. When it comes to stability life over huge amount time and its mutability in evolution, DNA molecule forms bigger part story than any individual might have thought. The discovery is considered passport all mysteries present challenges health, agriculture, crime solving environmental Ghana suggest that national relevance revolution will contribute achievement sustainable development goals Ghana.
