Starch is one of the most abundant polysaccharides in nature and has a high potential for application several fields, including effluent treatment as an adsorbent. unique structure, with zones different crystallinity glycosidic structure containing hydroxyl groups. This configuration allows wide range interactions pollutants degrees hydrophilicity, which includes from hydrogen bonding to hydrophobic interactions. review article aims survey use starch synthesis diverse adsorbents, forms nanoparticles blends, evaluates their performance terms amount pollutant adsorbed removal efficiency. A critical analysis materials developed, results obtained also presented. Finally, provides outlook on how this polysaccharide can be used more effectively efficiently remediation efforts near future.
