Abstract Silicone rubber (SR) is widely used in the food processing industry due to its excellent physical and chemical properties. However, differences SR product production formulas processes, quality of commercially available products varies greatly, with biological hazard potentials. Residual chemicals SR, such as siloxane oligomers 2,4‐dichlorobenzoic acid, are non‐intentionally added substances, which may migrate into during so safe use must be guaranteed. Simultaneously, contact susceptible pathogenic bacteria growing biofilm formation, like Cronobacter sakazakii , Staphylococcus aureus Salmonella enteritidis Listeria monocytogenes posing a safety risk. Under severe usage scenarios high‐temperature, high‐pressure, microwave, freezing environments long‐term use, more prone aging, their degradation pose potential hazards. Based on goal ensuring greatest extent possible, this review suggests that enterprises need prepare high‐quality food‐contact by optimizing manufacturing formula process, developing antibacterial antiaging The government departments should establish standards for conduct effective supervision. Besides, reusable cleaned consumers immediately after deteriorated replaced soon possible.
