Abstract BACKGROUND Bordeaux mixture is a copper‐based fungicide commonly used in vineyards to prevent fungal and bacterial infections grapevines. However, this may adversely affect the entomological component, including insect pests. Understanding impacts of on vineyard pest Lobesia botrana an increasing concern viticultural production. RESULTS had detrimental effects development reproductive performance L. . Several physiological traits were affected by exposure, decrease larval survival delayed moth emergence, as well reduced through female fecundity fertility male sperm quality. we did not detect any effect measured behaviors (mating success, pre‐mating latency mating duration). CONCLUSION Ingestion larvae food contaminated with negative , which could its population dynamics vineyards. Although study highlighted collateral damage potential impact fungicides diversity, natural predators discussed needs be taken consideration integrated management. © 2024 The Author(s). Stingless bees (Hymenoptera: Meliponini) are pollinators of both cultivated and wild crop plants in the Neotropical region. However, they susceptible to pesticide exposure during foraging activities. The fungicide fluazinam is commonly applied bean sunflower cultivation flowering period, posing a potential risk stingless bee Partamona helleri, which serves as pollinator for these crops. In this study, we investigated impact acute oral (24 h) on survival, morphology cell death signaling pathways midgut, oxidative stress behavior P. helleri worker bees. Worker were exposed 24 h (field concentrations 0.5, 1.5 2.5 mg a.i. mL

Abstract Urbanisation is associated with air and soil pollution, particularly from heavy metals. One of the tissues most exposed to such pollutants midgut epithelium as insects may ingest these food. Bees are one important urban insects, providing ecosystem services pollination. However, best our knowledge, no studies have investigated possible histological alterations bees caused by urbanisation. We sampled workers ground-nesting, primitively eusocial bee Halictus scabiosae in a large metropolis (Milan), aim test if individuals areas characterised higher urbanisation consequently pollution levels—defined here greater proportion roads—exhibit tissue cellular epithelium. obtained semi-thin sections through techniques, then adopted semi-quantitative approach assess morphological damage. The presented range including disorganisation, vacuolisation, nucleus karyorrhexis (one stages death). found damage score (calculated taking into account all alterations) frequency karyorrhectic nuclei sites roads (i.e. more urbanised). observed underline potential impairment digestive function highly urbanised areas.
