Abstract This study investigates the influence of democracy, autocracy, and globalization on carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions in 69 developing countries from 1990 to 2018. We used unit root approaches scrutinize level stationarity recognize that all concern variables were unified at first difference. Pedroni Kao cointegration methodologies employed for detection long‐run cointegration, conclusions discovered presence relationships among variables. Furthermore, this applied a fully modified ordinary least square (FMOLS) approach estimate elasticity/coefficients. The outcomes showed democracy renewable energy significantly overcome pressure environment. However, financial development increase environmental damage. Besides, findings an interaction term between reduce pollution level, dampening effect autocracy does similar Inverted U‐shaped Kuznets curve (EKC) hypothesis was verified across world. Additionally, Feedback is CO emissions. growth revealed democracy. Finally, also suggests some valuable policy suggestions governments/policymakers general/specific regarding world endorsing their sustainability.

Abstract One possible way to achieve sustainable economic growth is by limiting carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions. The developing countries, in particular, which significantly contribute global emissions, need a paradigm shift towards production and consumption while ensuring environmental sustainability. This study thus analyzes the role of green technology innovation, finance, renewable energy use, institutional quality, agricultural value added attaining sustainability abating CO emissions for 25 select countries from 1998 2019. uses Driscoll‐Kraay two‐step SGMM estimators assess impact independent variables on response variable, acknowledging endogeneity problem model. empirical findings reveal that quality induce whereas value‐added use are observed have detrimental effects Moreover, moderation effect innovation with finance weak insignificant recommends enforce policies promote investments clean sector attain development goals mitigating

This research explores the nexus of economic expansion, population, use renewable energy, democracy, and combined effect democracy GDP on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in BRICS countries. We apply an extended STIRPAT model, including variables with GDP, to examine case countries between 1990 2019. Quantile regression methods (Simultaneous, Powell, MM-QR) are applied together Dynamic OLS (DOLS), Fully modified (FMOLS), CCR. The results indicate that size (GDP) population linked increasing levels CO2. Whereas increased sources energy can help reduce environmental degradation. Similarly, interaction good growth is helpful for a sustainable environment. Dumitrescu Hurlin panel causality test highlights bidirectional causal link Democracy, Population CO2, but only unidirectional relationship Policymakers need consider:1) pro-growth policies along better democratic practices, 2) higher promotion resources, 3) improving living standards achieve quality.
