Parasitoid wasps control pests via a precise attack leading to the death of pest. However, parasitoid larvae exhibit self-protection strategies against bracovirus-induced reactive oxygen species impairment. This has detrimental effect on pest control. Here, we report strategy for simulating Microplitis bicoloratus bracovirus using Mix-T dsRNA targeting 14 genes associated with transcription, translation, cell–cell communication, and humoral signaling pathways in host, from wasp extracellular superoxide dismutases. We implemented either one-time feeding younger instar or spraying once corn leaves, effectively invading Spodoptera frugiperda . highlights conserved principle “biological control,” as elucidated by triple interaction parasitoid-bracovirus-host cooperation its host.

Prothioconazole (PTC) has been widely utilized for plant fungal disease control, but its metabolite prothioconazole-desthio (PTC-d) exhibits reproductive toxicity. In the present study, carbon quantum dot (CQD)-modified fluorescent double-hollow shelled mesoporous silica nanoparticles (FL-MSNs) loaded with PTC, referred to as PTC@FL-MSNs, were constructed an average size of 369 nm and a loading capacity 28.1 wt %, which could increase antifungal efficiency PTC. addition, upright fluorescence microscope UPLC-MS/MS studies showed that PTC@FL-MSNs be effectively transported via root uptake foliar spray in soybean plants. Compared 30% PTC dispersible oil suspension agent, PTC@FL-MSN treatment group higher concentrations (leaves: 0.50 > 0.48 mg/kg), longer half-lives degradation 3.62 3.21 d; roots: 3.39 2.82 d), fewer metabolites. These findings suggest sustained pesticide release toxicity reduction are potential applications nanofungicide delivery technology.

At least 87% of angiosperm species require animal vectors for their reproduction, while more than two-thirds major global food crops depend on zoogamous pollination. Pollinator insects are a wide variety organisms that diverse biotic and abiotic resources. Many factors have contributed to serious decrease in the abundance populations diversity pollinator over years. This decline is alarming, European Union has taken several actions aimed at counteracting it by issuing new conservation policies standardizing member countries. Thyridanthrax fenestratus (Fallén, 1814) is a bombyliid with poorly understood biology. It was recently shown to locally but frequently parasitize Pemphredon fabricii (M. Müller, 1911) (Hymenoptera: Crabronidae), crabronid wasp that abundantly nests in old Lipara -induced galls on the common reed Phragmites australis (Cav.) Trin. ex Steud., 1840. The parasitism modes Bombyliidae and spp. are not uniform. Here, we report Th. switches facultatively between killing host almost immediately (idiobiont strategy) at later developmental stage (koinobiont strategy). We document koinobiont parasitoid strategy for series of larvae parasitizing P. . found significant portion spend winter as young start feeding fully developed defecated prepupae only after end cold-induced diapause. time needed development exceeds several times pupation prepupae; parasitized prepupae, therefore, remain paralyzed until parasitic larva completes feeding. Fungicides, which alter larva, seem have negligible effects larvae. ability switch two strategies has already been reported Anthrax spp., though block prepupa prevent its following diapause herein first time.

Abstract The predatory bug Cyrtorhinus lividipennis Reuter (Hemiptera: Miridae) is an important biological control agent for planthoppers, such as Nilaparvata lugens (Stål) Delphacidae), and leafhoppers in rice fields ( Oryza sativa L., Poaceae). In this study, the sublethal effects of azoxystrobin difenoconazole, two fungicides extensively used production, on were investigated. results indicated that exposure to at third instar had no influence developmental duration, but difenoconazole resulted a 25.2% decrease lifespan adult males. When exposed newly emerged adults, caused 33.5% female longevity. pre‐oviposition period azoxystrobin‐treated females mating with males was shortened by 44.9%, compared control, whereas difenoconazole‐treated lengthened 32.2% group. However, effect fecundity egg hatchability. Furthermore, did not impact average consumption C. N. individuals. They stimulate response plants infested two‐choice H‐shaped olfactometer test. Also, capacity increased after decreased fungicides. Overall, our pose notable risk . These findings establish foundation rational coordinated utilization agents ecosystems.
