The excess use of pesticides in the agricultural sector has caused environmental pollution and affected complete ecosystem. Among various commonly used pesticides, chlorpyrifos (CPF) is widely against multiple agrarian pests due to its effectiveness higher insecticidal activities. However, along with beneficial usage, CPF residual effects on environment, causing negative impacts aquatic organisms human health. Consequently, methods for eliminating background are essential. currently available approaches remediation, biological using microorganisms eco-friendly cost-effective. Therefore, this study was conducted isolate characterize chlorpyrifos-degrading bacteria from tea-growing soil Vietnam. For this, samples were collected 20 areas From samples, three bacterial strains viz., Methylobacterium populi CNN2, Ensifer adhaerens VNN3, Acinetobacter pittii CNN4 have been isolated by streak plate method identified based 16S rRNA gene analysis. results showed that under laboratory conditions, E. VNN3 had highest degradation ability followed strain M. CNN2. In liquid medium, concentration (100 mg/L) reduced 95.2% 81.4% E.adhaerens respectively, after 72 h. Further, in-vitro 500 mg/kg 112 ± 1.73 (77.6%) 197 2.08 (60.6%) respectively. Based obtained results, it can be concluded CNN2 CPF-contaminated remediation.

Neonicotinoids, sometimes abbreviated as neonics, represent a class of neuro-active insecticides with chemical similarities to nicotine. Neonicotinoids are the most widely adopted group globally since their discovery in late 1980s. Their physiochemical properties surpass those previously established insecticides, contributing popularity various sectors such agriculture and wood treatment. The environmental impact neonicotinoids, often overlooked, underscores urgency develop tools for detection understanding behavior. Conventional methods pesticide have limitations. Chromatographic techniques sensitive but expensive, generate waste, require complex sample preparation. Bioassays lack specificity accuracy, making them suitable preliminary tests conjunction instrumental methods. Aptamer-based biosensor is recognized an advantageous tool neonicotinoids due its rapid response, user-friendly nature, cost-effectiveness, suitability on-site detection. This comprehensive review represents inaugural in-depth analysis advancements aptamer-based biosensors targeting imidacloprid, thiamethoxam, clothianidin, acetamiprid, thiacloprid, nitenpyram, dinotefuran. Additionally, offers valuable insights into critical challenges requiring prompt attention successful transition from research practical field applications.

Chlorpyrifos (CPF) is a widely used organophosphate insecticide, though its excessive use causes environmental contamination, raising concerns about adverse effects on human health. In this regard, Urtica dioica stands out as promising candidate for counteracting chemical 'contaminant' toxicity thanks to therapeutic properties. Therefore, our study aimed investigate the potential of an ethanolic extract (UDE) mitigate chlorpyrifos-induced toxicity. Eight compounds in have been identified, most which present significant antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective agents. exposure altered hatching rates, increased incidence teratogenic effects, upregulated expression brain-derived neurotrophic factor (Bdnf) zebrafish larvae telencephalon. On other hand, UDE demonstrated preventive effect against CPF-induced teratogenicity, expressed by lower morphological deformity rate. Moreover, showed rather protective effect, maintaining physiological condition Additionally, CPF locomotor behavior larvae, was characterized irregular swimming activity. This defective behavioral pattern slightly attenuated UDE. Our findings suggest that possesses properties toxicity, probably conferred natural antioxidant anti-inflammatory contents. Still, further research needed elucidate recruited mechanisms implicated pathways UDE's effects.

Contaminants of concern (CoCs) pose significant threats to Uganda’s ecosystems and public health, particularly in the face rapid urbanization, industrial expansion, intensified agriculture. This systematic review comprehensively analyzed CoC landscape, addressing imminent challenges that endanger country’s health. CoCs, originating from urban, industrial, agricultural activities, encompass a wide range substances, including pharmaceuticals, personal care products, pesticides, chemicals, heavy metals, radionuclides, biotoxins, disinfection byproducts, hydrocarbons, microplastics. identified major drivers dispersion, wastewater improper waste disposal practices. From an initial pool 887 articles collected reputable databases such as PubMed, African Journal Online (AJOL), Web Science, Science Direct, Google Scholar, 177 pertinent studies were extracted. The literature pointed presence 57 pharmaceutical residues along with 38 pesticide 12 across various environmental matrices, wastewater, groundwater, seawater, rainwater, surface water, drinking effluents. concentrations displayed levels exceeding established regulations, varying based on specific locations, compounds, matrices. underscores potential ecological health consequences associated antibiotic resistance, endocrine disruption, carcinogenicity. Inefficiencies traditional treatment methods, coupled inadequate sanitation practices certain areas, exacerbate contamination aquatic environments, intensifying concerns. To address these challenges, advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) emerge promising efficient alternatives for degradation prevention pollution. Notably, no prior have explored management mitigation contaminants through AOP application within aqueous matrices Uganda. emphasizes necessity improved data collection, awareness campaigns, offering recommendations implementation, adoption sustainable practices, enforcement source control measures. Furthermore, it highlights significance further research bridge knowledge gaps devise effective policies interventions. Ultimately, this comprehensive analysis equips readers, policymakers, regulators vital informed decision-making, policy development, protection environment.
