While urbanisation has numerous advantages, it causes greater risks to the environment and human health because of release heavy metals, various organic inorganic contaminants, personal care products, pharmaceuticals. Though several actions are being taken daily lessen harmful substances, there is still an immediate need find a suitable solution protect environment. Nanotechnology multifaceted applications, extensive evidence emerging applications nanoremediation, especially for soil water pollution. Iron nanoparticles showed outstanding removal efficiency towards hexavalent chromium (100 %). Likewise, publications on remediation employ nanomaterials based carbon, polymers. However, most previously conducted works present key nanoremediation results without depicting each nanomaterial's advantages disadvantages. Hence, this work critically reviews pros cons nanomaterial with special focus novel approaches using green synthesised that completely eco-friendly hence preferred contaminants producing effects. some bottlenecks exist in fully implementing Nanoremediation. Thus, review discusses limitations be addressed soon maintain environmental sustainability. Finally, presents opportunities future assessing eco-safety boosts further utilisation nanotechnology sustainable contaminated water.

Treating wastewater polluted with organic dyestuffs is still a challenge. In that vein, facile synthesis of structurally simple composite chitosan montmorillonite (CS-MMT) using glutaraldehyde as crosslinker and the magnetized analogue (MAG@CS-MMT) was proposed versatile adsorbents for cationic dye, basic Fuchsin (FUS).
