This study investigates the impact of untreated wastewater on a section Euphrates River in Al-Diwaniyah, Iraq. The unregulated discharge sewage and industrial effluents has caused severe pollution this area. research measures electrical conductivity, turbidity, total dissolved solids, oxygen, hardness, biological oxygen demand heavy metals (Ni, Cr, Pb, Co, Cd, Cu, Fe) using Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry. Approximately 40 water sampling stations were selected for analysis Heavy Metal Pollution Index (HPI) was used to assess quality. employed Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) tool, predict HPI values their spatial distribution. accuracy prediction maps evaluated regression by comparing observed with predicted from maps. emphasizes excessive levels River, specifically exceeding Iraqi standard thresholds Ni, Fe, Cd concentrations.

High Andean rivers are fragile ecosystems in the face of various threats, including heavy metal contamination. The objective this study was to evaluate potential ecological risk metals surface sediment lotic systems central region Peru. Composite samples sediments were collected from Chía and Miraflores concentrations determined. analysis carried out based on contamination indexes confirmed by modified degree (mCd). concentration river following descending order: Fe > Mn Zn V Pb Cr Ni Cu Mo Hg, y en el río fue: Hg Mo. mean Cu, Cr, Fe, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, both did not exceed threshold values continental crust concentration, nor interim quality guidelines Canadian Council Ministers Environment. However, exceeded guideline likely effect (0.7 mg.kg −1 ) adverse effects. enrichment factor (EF), (CF), geoaccumulation index (I geo ), pollution load (PLI) indicated low studied, being Finally, assessment showed that presented a risk.

Every day, the amount of quality fresh water decreases notably due to contamination drinking water. As a result, people use commercially supplied jar in southern part Bangladesh as well Gopalganj municipal area. This study aims investigate physicochemical parameters, trace elements, and microbial parameters for assessing human health risks from oral ingestion these elements. gathered samples 15 companies area during post-monsoon season. Temperature, potential hydrogen (pH), total dissolved solids (TDS), electrical conductivity (EC), salinity showed significant variation among samples, level was within national international standard limits. The concentrations iron (Fe) arsenic (As) were measured using UV–VIS spectrophotometer atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), respectively. analysis conducted by membrane filtration method. found that had an average concentration 0.16 mg/L terms Fe 0.016 As, with mean value exceeding On other hand, did not exceed standards. Probable risk heavy metal determined hazard quotient (HQ), index (HI), carcinogenic (CR) assessments. A child (HI = 3.5914) is more vulnerable non-carcinogenic than adult 1.6931). Furthermore, pollution pose high risk, children (CR 1.6 × 10 −3 ) being adults 7.5 −4 ). In analysis, 100% exceeded coliform fecal limits, 80% Escherichia coli Among 7% present around 47% medium 26% show low 20% no based on E . find any extremely limit concentration. inadequate quality, which may increase water-borne infections such diarrhea heart disease, diabetes, cancer. manufacturer jars must carry out essential control procedures, government should regularly monitor procedures.
