The country of Jordan is committed to sustainable development goals and public well-being but faces challenges such as high rates poverty disaffection, exacerbated by the influx refugees. This study aimed evaluate housing-related happiness factors provide recommendations for integrating these metrics into housing evaluations. We conducted qualitative interviews used interpretative phenomenological analysis, grounded in an interpretivist paradigm, understand Jordanian residents’ perspectives on their conditions. research design emphasized capturing subjective experiences residents meanings they assign environments. Our findings indicate that social integration community bonds are crucial happiness, emphasizing cultural continuity, place attachment, belonging, dignity. These insights highlight importance considering psychological outcomes initiatives, often overshadowed economic ecological metrics. propose enhance policies focusing sustainability, contributing growing trend incorporating green building offers a framework future projects ensure address needs residents, thereby improving overall well-being.
