This study employs bibliometric analysis and knowledge mapping to examine trends in research on phytoplankton Chinese reservoirs from 2004 2024. Utilizing the Web of Science Core Collection Database, focuses studies related reservoirs, phytoplankton, cyanophytes China. Three distinct stages evolution are identified: initial lakes eutrophication (2004–2010), a shift towards cyanobacteria blooms their ecological impacts (2010–2015), recent focus communities, carbon cycles, nutrient cycles (2015–2024).
