Abstract Introduction On 1 January 2020, Vietnam introduced a new law with harsher fines and penalties for driving under the influence of alcohol. Reports empty beer restaurants following this implementation suggested has potential to reduce population‐level alcohol consumption. This pilot study aims quantify short‐term changes in consumption levels after assess whether it could lead reduction total population.
