The development of an environmental damage compensation framework is a critical innovation in ecological civilization reforms. This study considers the pilot policy for reform as quasi-natural experiment, employing difference-in-differences approach with emission data from listed companies between 2008 and 2017. research evaluates impact system’s implementation areas its implications improving legal practices. results show that system significantly reduces corporate pollution emissions by 1.93% (p < 0.01), demonstrating effectiveness governance tool. heterogeneity analysis reveals stronger effects heavily polluting industries (3.30%, p 0.01) compared to non-heavily (1.25%, 0.1), state-owned enterprises (2.06%, versus non-state-owned (1.71%, developed regions (2.50%, underdeveloped (1.00%, not significant). dual mechanisms negotiation litigation impose strict constraints on behavior, effectively addressing issue “corporate pollution, public suffering, government expenses.” To optimize system, targeted recommendations include strengthening mechanisms, refining judicial responsibilities, enhancing coordination regions. These findings highlight originality importance model balancing protection economic development.

ABSTRACT Choosing to go green within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a smart move that has been at forefront of all strategies and global concern. As result, current study investigates impact technical innovation (TI), (GI), information communication technology (ICT), financial depth (FD), GDP in relation CO 2 emissions (COE), ecological footprint (EF) for G‐20 economies between 1990 2021. The Method Moments Quantile Regression (MMQR) utilized analysis, while Westerlund test cointegration. conclusion validated mixed findings EF COE models. In G‐20, GI its interaction with FD are lowering EF, but model, outweighs effects becomes barrier COE. Meanwhile, development dramatically raises across range quantiles. Furthermore, TI reduces COE, −0.567. To meet SDGs, this suggests enacting eco‐friendly policies, encouraging investments, strengthening tax regulations support nature protection.

Achieving environmental sustainability remains a critical challenge for governments worldwide, particularly within the G20 bloc, due to rapid urbanization, resource-intensive industrial activities, and pressures associated with globalization. Despite various efforts, ecological degradation continues escalate, necessitating deeper understanding of factors influencing sustainability. This study investigates role technological innovation (TLI), education (EDU), human capital (HMC), natural resources (NTS) in shaping sustainability, while also assessing effects globalization (GLN) urbanization (URZ) on footprint (EFT) from 2000 2022. By employing Driscoll Kraay standard error (DKSE) method, provides robust empirical insights into these relationships. The findings reveal that TLI, EDU, HMC significantly reduce EFT, supporting notion development contribute Conversely, NTS, GLN, URZ exacerbate degradation, underscoring costs resource exploitation urban expansion. These results remain consistent when validated through CS-ARDL robustness test. Furthermore, Dumitrescu-Hurlin causality test identifies reverse between unidirectional is confirmed remaining variables. study’s highlight necessity policymakers implement eco-friendly advancements, sustainable frameworks, responsible management strategies mitigate degradation. broader discourse provide actionable recommendations fostering long-term balance nations.

This study investigates the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovation on ecological footprint in Nordic region from 1990 to 2020, alongside effects banking development, stock market capitalization, economic growth, and urbanization. Utilizing STIRPAT model, incorporates cross-sectional dependence slope homogeneity tests, revealing issues heterogeneity dependence. The analysis employs both first second-generation panel unit root confirming that variables are free problems. Panel cointegration tests demonstrate cointegrated long run. To explore short- long-term relationships, utilizes Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. ARDL results indicate urbanization positively correlate with short Conversely, AI development negatively footprint. validate estimations, robustness checks performed using Fully Modified OLS, Dynamic Fixed Effects all which support initial findings. Furthermore, D-H causality test identify causal relationships. show a unidirectional relationship between innovation, urbanization, In contrast, bidirectional exists growth footprint, as well

Emerging states’ path to enhancing the welfare of their citizens has been strongly accompanied by environmental degradation; climate change effects often abrogate economic results. This zero-sum game must change, and concerns should be considered when development a country is discussed assessed. In this sense, study’s objective analyze impact complexity renewable energy consumption in presence growth urbanization selected emerging European countries from 1995 2021. We used multiple-methodologic approach highlight supportive mitigating carbon emissions. Furthermore, were emphasized applying cointegration regression (CCR), fully modified OLS, dynamic OLS (FMOLS–DOLS) approaches. Additionally, we Driscoll–Kraay estimation test robustness our The results reveal beneficial role decarbonization process countries. study highlighted detrimental influence growth, which feasible considering status included panel.
