This review explores the potential role of androgens in human breast cancer and female canine mammary tumors. Human is one most common cancers affecting women globally, while tumors provide a natural model for study due to their similar histopathologies molecular features. Androgen receptors, typically linked male sex hormones, are present up 90% These receptors interact with estrogen-receptor signaling, suggesting involvement complex mechanism progression. have become key players biology, offering new targets therapeutic strategies. The presence these both raises important questions about development malignancies. While exact mechanisms remain be fully elucidated, research suggests that targeting androgen-receptor signaling could novel approach humans canines. Further studies necessary understand implications expression develop more effective targeted therapies cancers.

Mixed-type carcinoma (MTC) accounts for 44% of mammary neoplasms in bitches and poses challenges histological grading due to the heterogeneity invasive areas. The present study aimed measure characterize areas stroma MTC investigate association those parameters with lymph node status survival. Forty cases were analyzed divided into two groups: metastasis without metastasis. size, perimeter, length, number carcinomatous measured. Cases showed a higher foci (p = 0.003) larger 0.006) compared Bitches than 2 mm2 had shorter survival times. No was found between perimeter or length areas, expression Ki67, ER, PR, COX-2, HER-2, immunophenotype. Thus, size are associated regional status, suggesting histomorphometry may serve as valuable tool evaluating biological behavior mixed-type carcinoma.

Cancer is the most common cause of death in adult dogs. All dogs would benefit from early diagnosis, but there are no specific guidelines regarding schedule cancer screening companion animals. The aim this study was to retrospectively evaluate age at diagnosis Italian oncological canine patients. A total 14,636 histologically confirmed neoplastic cases were coded according Vet-ICD-O-canine-1 and stratified by malignancy, sex, neutering status, breed, cephalic index, body size, tumor type. Differences distribution analyzed influence these variables on time first malignancy assessed using an event history analysis model. median for benign malignant tumors 9 10 years, respectively. Our results confirm that a "one-size-fits-all" approach not accurate provide relevant data may lead establishment breed-based schedules.

Breast cancer, a complex and heterogeneous ailment impacting numerous women worldwide, persists as prominent cause of cancer-related fatalities. MicroRNAs (miRNAs), small non-coding RNAs, have garnered significant attention for their involvement in breast cancer's progression. These molecules post-transcriptionally regulate gene expression, influencing crucial cellular processes including proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis. This review provides an overview the current research on role miRNAs cancer. It discusses different subtypes molecular characteristics, mechanisms by which expression cancer cells. Additionally, highlights recent studies identifying specific that are dysregulated potential use diagnostic prognostic biomarkers. Furthermore, explores therapeutic treatment. Preclinical shown effectiveness miRNA-based therapies, such antagomir miRNA mimic inhibiting tumor growth metastasis. Emerging areas, application artificial intelligence (AI) to advance "One Health" approach integrates human animal insights, also discussed. However, challenges remain before these therapies can be fully translated into clinical practice. In conclusion, this emphasizes significance innovative tools. A deeper understanding dysregulation is essential successful settings. With continued research, approaches hold promise improving patient outcomes devastating disease.
