The article provides a systematic review of research on risk management in improving SME operational effectiveness. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, following Tranfield et al. (2003), study reviews peer-reviewed articles published between 2006 and 2024, focusing application impact practices SMEs. A total 29 were selected critically analyzed to extract key themes, findings, gaps. findings highlight that effective significantly enhances operations by allowing businesses identify, assess, mitigate potential risks. Structured frameworks enable SMEs increase resilience better handle uncertainties. Advanced technologies like AI also improve supply chain agility efficiency. Furthermore, integrating with innovation processes fosters creativity strengthens competitiveness. However, challenges such as limited resources lack awareness hinder broader adoption contributes literature identifying best strategies for SMEs, emphasizing its role supporting innovation, internal capabilities, sustainable growth.
