For people with severe mental disorders (SMDs) the COVID-19 pandemic may pose a number of risks. These include loss needed care, higher probability infection, and worsening their health. To analyze pandemic’s impact on care received, relapses, employment, adherence to preventive guidelines in SMD sufferers, multicenter retrospective cohort study was carried out comparing 185 patients diagnosed 85 common disorders. The results showed that during lockdown, there significant reduction face-to-face psychotherapeutic, nursing, occupational therapy interventions. In same period, telematic interventions were introduced which, although subsequently reduced, now continue be used greater extent than before pandemic. Employment decreased significantly (13% vs. 9.2%; χ2 = 126.228 p < 0.001). percentage following lower for both hand washing (56.2% 75.3%; 9.360, 0.002) social distancing (47% 63.5; 6.423 0.011). conclusion, has led are recovery SMDs, together employment an increased risk contagion due less guidelines. future, appropriate attention these people’s needs must guaranteed.

Abstract Background Globally, the corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has created an interpersonally threatening context within which other people have become a source of possible threat. This study reports on development and validation self-report measure paranoia; that is, heightened levels suspicion mistrust towards others due to COVID-19 pandemic. Methods An international consortium developed initial set 28 items for Pandemic Paranoia Scale (PPS), were completed by participants from UK ( n = 512), USA 535), Germany 516), Hong Kong 454) Australia 502) using stratified quota sampling (for age, sex educational attainment) through Qualtrics translated Kong. Results Exploratory factor analysis in sample suggested 25-item, three-factor solution (persecutory threat; paranoid conspiracy interpersonal mistrust). Confirmatory (CFA) remaining combined showed sufficient model fit this independent data. Measurement invariance analyses configural metric invariance, but no scalar across cultures/languages. A second-order CFA whole indicated three factors large loadings common paranoia factor. Analyses also supported test–retest reliability internal convergent validity. Conclusion The PPS offers internationally validated reliable method assessing potential enhance our understanding impact pandemic, nature assist identifying supporting affected pandemic-specific paranoia.

Evidence suggests that different variables associated with the COVID-19 pandemic may increase risk of relapse in people Severe Mental Disorders (SMDs). However, no studies have yet looked closely at factors involved to determine their influence on worsening these patients' illnesses. To analyze which related increased patients SMDs. A multicenter retrospective cohort study data were collected from 270 mental disorders who had been under follow-up day hospitals during year 2020. The proportion full health inpatient admissions was significantly higher those lost employment (40.7% vs. 18.1%; p = 0.01), not receiving psychotherapy interventions (33.9% 16.6%; 0.006), and occupational therapy (25.7% 13.6%: 0.013). Significant associations detected between urgent consultations, number symptoms (B 0.274; 0.02), low-income group (1.2424 0.4583; 0.018). certain consequences pandemic, such as loss employment, economic hardship, interventions, brought about clinical Knowledge is important for health-related decision-making future outbreaks or pandemics.
